Wellbeing Camp

Jipungwayi’s Wellbeing Camp is a unique cultural experience designed to support young people, particularly those facing challenges with substance misuse, mental health, or emotional wellbeing.

In partnership with PHN NT, we have been offered the opportunity to deliver tailored, on-country wellbeing camps for youth aged 12 to 18 across all three Tiwi Island communities.

These camps combine cultural connection, healing practices, and therapeutic activities to build confidence, resilience, and positive pathways for Tiwi youth.

Jipungwayi will work closely with Remote Outreach teams to design and deliver activities that encourage reflective, culturally grounded conversations around mental health and the impacts of alcohol and other drugs.

Our camps will incorporate therapeutic practices that have been embedded in First Nations culture for generations, including weaving, spear making, and hunting on country. These activities create safe, non-threatening environments where young people can relax, connect to culture, and engage in conversations they may not feel comfortable having in more formal settings.
